Heaven and Earth – 3′ 26″ – color, sound, Super 8 to Digital

My family picks a blueberry bush. Filmed on Super 8 in New Hampshire and named after the Louise Glück poem. My grandfather, an enthusiastic Super 8 amateur, died the week my niece was born. Through cinema, I created a place where I have both together, where I can stand in the reality of the stalled sun, entirely contained in trembling leaves and golden trees. The varied languages of my family move and affect like nothing so much as this light.
